Discover a wild side of San Diego you’ve never seen before while making a positive impact! Ticket proceeds from every Eco Tour directly support our youth education programs. Enjoy a personalized one-of-a-kind outdoor experience in beautiful San Diego. Tours are conducted in partnership with local businesses and are led by certified guides who are experts in marine science, recreation, and conservation.

Wildlife Kayaking

Includes a two-hour guided kayaking tour inside the South San Diego Bay. Kayakers use field guides while observing wildlife as they paddle through the Chula Vista Wildlife Reserve with local experts leading the way.

Birding & Brews

Includes a three-hour guided brew tasting and bird watching tour around the San Diego Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Guests taste local brews and enjoy a guided birding walk or e-bike ride while wildlife experts identify local sights and bird species.

Tide Pool Exploration

Includes a two-hour guided tidepooling tour around different spots of the San Diego intertidal. Guests use field guides as they explore the biodiverse rocky coast. Naturalist guides identify species and explain relevant marine science concepts.

Wildin’ Mission Bay

Kayak and Stand Up Paddle Board tours (and more) in Mission Bay. Learn about the unique history of the bay, its ecosystems, and how recreation and conservation are teaming up! Perfect for beginners and offer a fun way to try something new, and get a fresh perspective.

Whale Watching

Includes a three-hour guided whale watching and citizen science tour departing from downtown San Diego. Guests use binoculars to observe wildlife and record data aboard Flagship’s Marietta. Experts share facts about marine life, local landmarks, and history.

Nature Walks

Includes a two-hour guided tour at various scenic locations throughout San Diego County. Learn about wildlife, and the history of the land. Citizen Scientists engage in data collection, hands-on experiments, and species identification. Walks are family friendly and are offered at a variety of physical levels.

Sea Lions, Cliffs, and Caves

Includes a two-hour guided walking/wading tour through beautiful La Jolla Cove. Visit the Children’s Pool and learn about how and why the sea lions have made this their year round home. Don’t be afraid to get wet, as you will explore the rocky shoreline, and discover what lives in the caves and crevices.

Fun and Free Events

Engage and connect with the environment and community. Cleanup the wetlands via kayak, restore our native wetlands, participate in community festivals, and even learn to help make prizes for young ocean stewards.
