Mandy Shefman grew up as a student-athlete participating in gymnastics, volleyball and track, the last earning her a throwing scholarship at the University of Arizona, where she earned a B.A. in Art History with a Minor in Studio Art. Mandy holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Colorado Denver and an Alternative Teacher License from the Stanley British Primary School. Mandy worked for several years in Administrative, Managerial and Instructing positions, registering children into gymnastics and arts programs and coaching them to conquer their fears and express their creativity. In 2012, she started her nonprofit career in Houston, Texas at City ArtWorks. Mandy transitioned into development at Arts for Learning San Diego and later worked on the fundraising events team for Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego. Mandy regularly plays sand volleyball and volunteers at both a cat rescue and a senior dog foundation. Her role with Ocean Connectors involves connecting our work with donors, volunteers, and businesses.
