Dr. Cindy Vasquez is a retired educator of over 40 years. In her career, she held roles as an Instructional Assistant, Bilingual Teacher, Language Arts Specialist, Assistant Principal, Principal, and Director of Educational Services. As an administrator, she worked in several program improvement schools that improved significantly to California Distinguished Schools status under her tenure. As Director of Educational Services (focused on English Learners, Assessment and Technology), she helped equip classrooms with smart boards and upgraded computers to help students better utilize technology. Cindy received a B.A. in Physical Education with a Minor in Business and a Master’s in Educational Leadership, both from San Diego State University, and she received her Ed.D. from Nova Southeastern University. Cindy led the collaboration between National School District and Ocean Connectors, helping to grow the programs district-wide to ensure all students receive meaningful, hands-on learning experiences related to the natural sciences and stewardship, in alignment with California Common Core, Next Generation Science Standards, and the District Strategic Plan.
